Virginia V. MS OTR/L, LMT
Virginia has been with Ka lani since January of 2017. As a massage therapist she specializes in deep tissue and trigger point therapy. She is especially passionate about pain and injury management. Virginia completed her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy in 2018 and has been utilizing her multidisciplinary approach to better the outcomes of her clients. She utilizes her knowledge of anatomy to complete deep tissue techniques and targeted trigger point therapy to reduce muscle tension and improve range of motion.
Virginia works with each client to uncover ways to create adjustments during every day activities relevant to them. This is done to help elongate the effects of the massage. This includes postural changes that can help to combat tension caused by repetitive activities, prolong holding patterns, poor posture, etc. Education for ergonomics and corrective posture are often great ways to create lasting change leading to improved pain management and injury prevention. "Thank you, Virginia for the best massage I've ever received! Can't wait to see her again next month!" Diane C. Andrew K. LMTAndrew first experienced massage in Physical Therapy for multiple injuries throughout high school and has been fascinated with the power of touch ever since. Andrew takes a head to toe approach to mobility and considers the body’s ability to handle everything we throw its way. He begins and ends each massage with the client’s goals in mind and encourages clients to take time to consider how their body feels and functions.
In practice since 2016, Andrew is primarily a Deep Tissue therapist employing the use Myofascial, Sports, and Swedish Massage. A good client for Andrew is someone who wants focus work on the Neck, Hips, Jaw, Shoulders, or Lower Limbs. And while Andrew is great at digging into stubborn muscles, each of his massages has an emphasis on flow and relaxation as well as releasing Trigger Points. Andrew seeks to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who gets on his table. "I went to Ka lani as I was recovering from a shoulder injury. I had never been very comfortable with the idea of massage, but I was still in pain several months after the injury, so I decided I had to try something else - I’m so glad I did! Andrew is amazing, he’s a very warm person and helped me feel at ease right away. He listened to what my goals were and always kept it open if I decided to change anything about the session. After a few sessions with Andrew, and my continuing at-home PT exercises, I had noticeably more mobility in my shoulder, which was incredible. Andrew also always checks in on the nervous system, which, as a person new to massage, I really appreciate too. The team at the front desk has always been so helpful and nice as well - all around a great experience!" Taylor L. Jessica S. LMT
